| Hrm, I just rediscovered an old site I thought went down...
vgmix.com
Basically a website that hosts various fan-made remixes of old video game music. A lot of it is pretty much new music inspired by the original stuff... Most of the songs come from old SNES/Sega RPGs like Shining Force, Final Fantasy, Chrono Trigger, and Earthbound. There's also a few that come from stuff like Kirby, Mario and Ninja Gaiden.
I personally recommend listening to the top earthbound ones and http://vgmix.com/song_view.php?song_id=3998 (ninja gaiden remix).
Man, now I feel like playing Chrono Trigger again or something... | comments: 1 comment or Leave a comment |
| Wow, I JUST finished packing.
That's a new record for me.
Whole 12 hours before leaving. 12 hours. | comments: Leave a comment |
| Yes, while it may come as a bit of a shock to some of you, I am still alive.
And in NJ. | comments: 3 comments or Leave a comment |
| For those who don't know yet, I got back from China a few days ago. Apparently, there were a few who never knew that I even left... ^^;
July 2 to August 11th...
Jetlag sucks, especially the part about feeling tired at 7 pm, and waking up at 3-4 AM for no apparent reason.
China was fun...no drinking age is always good. Though, it'd be nice to know a little bit more Chinese the next time I visit.
Example of a conversation between me and a Japanese Foreign Student learning Chinese at the same school:
(Imagine everything is being said in Chinese, with a horrible accent on my part. He had been in China for about 3 months already, so, his pronounciation was better than mine... -_- )
"Where are you from?" "The United States." "Ohhh, I went to California once, where in the United States?" "New Jersey" "Ahhh, New Jersey!" *2 second pause* "Where's New Jersey?"
Now reverse it, replace the US with Japan, and New Jersey with some province in Japan I've never heard of. | comments: Leave a comment |
| Contact Info: I got my own phone number, 137 6166 0377 Add to the start: 00 86, if from HK 011 86, if from US 0, if calling from a city in China other than Shanghai with a non-mobile phone...I think. If you can't get through just try it without the zero or vice versa.
86 is the country code for China, 011 is to signify an international call for US, 00 for anywhere else.
In Shanghai, leaving for Hang Zhou tomorrow, be back in Shanghai on the 12th. I'm almost sure that I won't have internet access from then on. This'll probably be my last update for a while.
So apparently the only rule in the place that I'm staying starting from the 12th, an international students' dorm in Shanghai University, is...no pets. Interesting. | comments: Leave a comment |
| Yeah, so I already arrived in Hong Kong. My dad will arrive in Shanghai (seperate flight) tomorrow, US time. I will leave Hong Kong for Shanghai around midnight, tomorrow, US time. Meaning, I won't get my own cell phone number until a few days from now, earliest.
Time difference is exactly 12 hours later than in the US.
Tokyo IS 11 hours off, in case Paci or Dan care about, or even remember, the discussion from Duff's. | comments: Leave a comment |
| Well, I'll be in China for the next six weeks. If anyone wants to contact me,
- Call my dad at 138 581 99 999. - Add a 011 86 to the start of the number if you are calling from the US, HK, or anywhere else that's not China - Add a 0 to the start of the number if you are calling from a non-mobile phone in China. - Keep it as it is if you are dialing from a mobile phone in China.
Yeah...I know. What?!? It's a bit complicated. (Okay, that's enough of that damn formatting. Even in jest, it sturs up some bad memories.)
My dad will give you MY mobile phone number (only because I don't have it yet.) If I go online in China, slightly, I'll post MY number in here.
I'll be in the Shanghai area for most of the trip. I'll be in Hong Kong, slightly, for the first two days of the trip, and possibly a random weekend of the 6 weeks. I'd be nice to do something with any of the other tekkers going to China...
Have a nice summer everyone. | comments: 3 comments or Leave a comment |
| So, High School is finally over. I say finally, because I've wanted it to just END after ridiculous amount of work we continued to receive just kept piling up...
I had become used to going to High Tech, seeing everyone, everyday - furiously cramming the period before class, playing various games, arguing with teachers. Slightly...different from Manalapan, to say the least; I'm in a position to truly compare the two.
I already feel nostalgic.
I know I can talk to almost everyone online, through AIM or with an e-mail. But no matter what, time will eventually wear away the memories and relationships that have developed over the last three years, leaving only an awkward silence between many of us.
Congratulations to everyone for graduating, and good luck. I'll miss all of you. Please, keep in touch. | comments: 1 comment or Leave a comment |
| Glory of Chaos (5:04:40 PM): wow Glory of Chaos (5:04:42 PM): inspiration. Glory of Chaos (5:04:44 PM): damn... Glory of Chaos (5:04:44 PM): I lost it Glory of Chaos (5:05:32 PM): why are there no rye chips in this damn chex mix.
They should really make a seperate thing of just the Rye Chips in chex mix (Those kind of hard brown round, flat pieces of rye bread...) I've found TWO HALVES of them in this entire BAG. I love those things.
...Ugh, stupid english essay I was supposed to do for Friday...
At least I'm going to Hong Kong and Japan this spring break.
There's also a chance I'm going to China for a month during summer break, about two weeks after school ends.
EDIT: YES! I found another one.
EDIT (Again): So I was rereading my old entries and I realized I misspelled stupidity in my first entry. I definately didn't INTEND to, but I found that rather amusing... | comments: 3 comments or Leave a comment |

You were demoted last month." "I already do that though!" "Yeah, but now you don't get a hammer. You have to use your head." "Oh, THAT'S what they meant by 'You ought to use your head more?'"
"Okay, let's take a vote..." "All in favor, raise their hand." *Everyone raises their hand* "Wait, what are we voting on?" "Opting for TVs to act as clocks using an expensive, outdated system that cannot be upgraded." "Oh...in that ca- "We already voted yes." "Damnit.
"With all this technology and money spent, will the clocks be ACCURATE, at least?" "No, in fact, they will STOP for five seconds JUST TO RING A BELL!" That sounds horribly inefficient..." "We have a business deal with the electronics company that supplies the school with TVs. Plus, we've never sold one of these before. Not even to Brookdale." "No one was gullible enough?" "No, no one was stupid and rich enough."
"This sounds like something out of Dilbert." "Actually, Catbert is our financial consultant." "...How much are we paying him?" "I don't know. I just know that I get checks in red ink now."

| Okay, so over the break I went on a cruise, which turned out to be better than I expected. The tours sucked and the food wasn't exactly the best, though... If anyone feels like asking me about it, feel free to do so, though I doubt anyone will.
Couple things I found amusing... Speed Limit Signs in Puerto Rico begin with "Velocidad Maxima" Speed Bumps were marked by a sign that had "HUMP" written on it in large letters. I met a family of girls with the last name "Dragon" On the day my tour was canceled due to rain, I played Silent Scope EX in the arcade in the cruise ship. The 8 top scores are now by "TAI". Best score was 350,000-ish, aptitude was around 450/1000. The previous high score was like, 140,000.
Anyway, yesterday, the last day of the cruise, we docked at San Juan, Puerto Rico. I get to the airport at around 8:45, and check in for what I thought was a noon flight, only to discover it was changed to 10 AM. We SCRAMBLE and made it to the gate in time, but the flight was overbooked so and we were forced to change to a flight that took off at 5:59 PM. (Stupid airlines, why not just an even 6:00?) To top that off, that flight was delayed about an hour...we ended up arriving at Newark Liberty Airport around...10 PM. Waited another hour for my dad's flight to arrive, ended up getting home at about midnight.
Stupid Continental Airlines...
Anyway, the first thing I do when I got home, of course, was check my e-mail and all the websites I haven't been keeping up with for the last 8 days.
I'll stop now, since all those kids with A.D.D. probably stopped reading already. | comments: Leave a comment |
| Let's continue the whole "we're all Jersey at High Tech" chain of LJ entries...
Welcome home. You're SO Jersey. You know Wildwood and Seaside are the most disgusting places on earth, and only good for drunken after prom vacations, you know there's always a "short-cut" to someplace. Isn't Jersey great? I mean, where else can you go 80 MPH and STILL be the slowest car on the road?
How JERSEY are you? brought to you by Quizilla | comments: Leave a comment |
| Well, this weekend sucks... It's 6 AM and I just woke up. I went to sleep at 9 last night because I felt really tired and sick...
I think I failed my Physics Free Response part, ignoring the AP curve, meaning I probably got like, an 80. Carnegie Mellon sent me a rejection letter. I'm not being deferred to regular decision. I'm not that pissed about it, but I still haven't told my parents. Rutgers sent me a letter saying they haven't received my transcript yet...
At least there isn't a spanish journal due on Monday. | comments: Leave a comment |
| I should really make a to-do list for this weekend, though with the way I procrastinate, it'd probably look like: 1) Finish making up a to-do list. ...basically a waste of time! Besides, I'd never be able to follow it. I should really learn how to manage my time more efficiently.
On a side note, I've finally managed to contact my mentor. | comments: Leave a comment |
| I wish I didn't have such a bad habit of procrastination. Stupid college applications... I hate college applications. Why do we have to fill out 100s of pages of paperwork to get them to accept our money? The prominence of any college is based on the quality of their students, and the work they accomplished after graduation, anyway. Sure, the faculty is important as well, but even the best teachers can not do much with students who refuse to learn...
Blah...
Oh well, there isn't really any way to circumvent the entire college system short of creating a well advertised, student driven program basically emulating college, minus all the administration. Well, that or simply not going, but I don't think that's really an option for most of us. | comments: Leave a comment |
| Thinking: "Hm, I should do my College Aps." "But, they're upstairs" "..." "My video games are upstairs!" *Runs upstairs, gets to his room* "Wait, why did I come up here again?" "...My feet are cold" *Puts on socks, runs downstairs* "Damn, I'm bored." *Goes on the computer, posts on Livejournal*
Scary isn't it?
I love long weekends. Hm...what should I not do next?
EDIT: Does anyone even read my entries? Mood: Indescribable? That's a bit ironic... | comments: 1 comment or Leave a comment |
